Double Coin Tire Achieves SmartWay Verification
Double Coin Holdings, a China-based tire manufacturer, has been added to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay list of verified technologies
Double Coin Holdings, a China-based tire manufacturer, has been added to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay list of verified technologies.
Double Coin's FT105 trailer tire has been verified as a low rolling resistance trailer tire. According to the EPA, using low rolling resistance tires on the steer, drive and trailer axle positions can provide a reduction in NOx emissions and an estimated fuel savings of 3 percent or greater relative to the "best selling" new tires.
The FT105 program resulted from a collaborative effort between CMA in China and staff in North America, who constantly review global needs in an effort to meet the demands of the ever-changing transportation world. CMA distributes Double Coin products.
The FT105 is part of Double Coin's fuel efficient tire lineup, which consists of a series of tires including the FR605 and the FD405, all made of advanced tread compounds and internal construction to provide lower rolling resistance and longer mileage. In addition, the FR605 steer position tire features a five-rib tread to enhance even wear and traction in long haul steer axle positions. The FD405 drive position tire has a deep 26/32-inch tread with stone drilling protectors to promote long original mileage.
