The 40-foot gooseneck chassis are being delivered to locations across the U.S., from California to Maryland, where FEMA will incorporate them into their fleet. Each chassis will be mated with a 40-foot container loaded with water, ready-to-eat meals, office supplies and other necessities to help a dispatched FEMA crew.
Delivery of the chassis will be completed by April 30, in fulfillment of a contract awarded to Dorsey late last year. Currently, Dorsey Intermodal’s facility remains in active production during the COVID-19 crisis, with safeguards in place to ensure the health and safety of its team members.
The chassis, built in Pittsview, Alabama, are typically destined to ports or rail yards, where they are used to transport goods of all kinds.
“On behalf of all the people here at Dorsey Intermodal and Pitts Enterprises, serving the U.S. government and the American people by providing quality domestically made product brings pride across our entire plant,” said Dorsey Intermodal President J.P. Pierson.
