The slow downward trend of diesel and gasoline prices seems to have halted this week.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, nationally, the prices for a gallon of diesel and for gasoline climbed last week.
A price for a gallon of diesel rose 1.5 cents to rest at $4.09, which is still 37 cents above the price one year ago at this time.
The lowest diesel prices can be seen on the Gulf Coast, according to the report, where the price for a gallon of diesel remained constant this week at $4. As per the norm, the West Coast - and more specifically, California - saw the highest prices for diesel. In California, the price for a gallon of diesel climbed 3.8 cents to $4.41.
Gasoline prices jumped a 4.6 cents higher nationally to an average of $3.85.
