Decker Truck Line Inc., Fort Dodge, Iowa, a family-owned and operated fleet that got its start in 1931 with a single Model B Ford truck, has begun construction on a new headquarters building and driver facility.

In addition to its Fort Dodge headquarters, the company has terminals strategically located in Mediapolis, Iowa; Davenport, Iowa; Mason City, Iowa; Masury, Ohio; Hammond, Ind.; Hutchins, Texas; and Birmingham, Ala.
A subsidiary company is Le Mars, Iowa-based B-T Inc., a specialized refrigerated carrier with a focus on the ice cream industry. That carrier recently moved its terminal in Ft. Wayne to a new location to better serve its customers and drivers.
"There is no doubt that we are poised for exciting growth in the months and years ahead," said Blaine Martin, manager of driver recruiting at Decker. "In addition to adding new facilities and equipment, we’ve been successful in adding new accounts and expanding our service to existing Decker customers."
Decker currently has openings for experienced and inexperienced company drivers, student graduates and owner-operators, and the company just introduced a new pay package honoring credit for prior years of experience.
Decker also has a program available for those with no experience at all who are looking to get started in the industry.
"The top 10% of our drivers earn between $60,000 and $70,000 each year," said Martin.
Owner-operators leasing on with Decker can choose between flatbed and refrigerated divisions, with fleet discounts on fuel and weekly settlements.
