The company will receive another 300 LCV-equipped trailers from Stoughton and Wabash this year.
Consisting of two connected 53-foot trailers, LCVs are pulled by a single power unit doubling the capacity of the load while consuming only 70 percent of the fuel of two separate units.
Truckload carrier Challenger currently offers routes from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Calgary, Alberta, and Winnipeg to Edmonton, Alberta, and the carrier expects to expand service through Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. They are an invited participant in Ontario's current LCV pilot test.
