CFI, an international truckload carrier based in Joplin, Mo., has recognized its driver award recipients for January 2004.

Company Driver of the Month is Eric Klauss, an El Paso, Texas, resident who has been driving with CFI since 1994.
The Company Team of the Month includes Miguel Barriga and Oscar Torres, also El Paso residents. They both started driving with CFI in 2000.
Contractor Driver of the Month is Gerald Sheppard, who resides in Nyack, N.Y. He began his career with CFI in 1994.
And the Contractor Team of the Month includes Gary and Nora Bulen, who live in Grove, Okla. Gary began driving with CFI in 1989, and Nora started in 1996.
Each driver and team is automatically nominated for the 2004 year-end award in their respective category. All full-time over the road drivers who have been certified as a driver at CFI for one year are eligible for the CFI driver awards.
Requirements for winners include no moving violations in the previous 12 months; no accidents in the previous 12 months; and no out of service violations through state or federal inspections in the previous 12 months.
CFI, founded in 1951, operates 2,500 tractors and more than 6,500 trailers and transports a variety of goods throughout the contiguous United States and Canada. CFI interlines with Mexican carriers at various border crossings to provide through-trailer service to Mexico.
