Starting last week, the 2020 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree began its 2,000-mile journey to the U.S. Capitol Building just in time for the holiday season.

Towed along the way by a Kenworth T680 adorned with winter-themed exterior graphics, the trip began in Henderson, Colorado. Apex Transportation is behind the wheel this year, taking up the mission after the November 5th tree-harvesting ceremony in the Uncompahgre National Forest. The trip will include a series of outdoor community celebrations, mostly within Colorado.

The graphics feature a decorated Christmas tree, the U.S. Capitol Building, 14,023-foot Wilson Peak in Colorado’s Uncompahgre National Forest, and the words “From Colorful Colorado to America’s Front Steps.” This year’s logo incorporates the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree theme “Experience Your Nature,” the names of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in western Colorado, and Colorado’s state flag.
