The Canada-based customs broker Farrow Co. has acquired CK Logistics Inc., an established customs broker and logistics firm headquartered in San Antonio.
The deal complements the service offering of Farrow U.S., and provides the opportunity to leverage other Farrow service offerings including cross border, consulting and logistics, according to the company.
CK Logistics will be rebranded to Farrow U.S. within 12 to 18 months. No organizational changes will be made as part of this transition, terms of which were not released.
CK Logistics was established in 2000. Founder Chris Kuehler will remain with Farrow as senior executive and be based in San Antonio.
Farrow is one of the largest private, family owned customs broker in Canada with over 675 employees and 31 offices and warehouse locations throughout Canada and the U.S.
This is the 6th acquisition for Farrow since 2005, and the 18th overall since 1984. The company was founded in 1911.
"This acquisition provides us with a strong presence in the U.S. southwest, one of the fastest growing markets in the U.S.,” said Farrow Chairman and CEO Richard Farrow. “Further, it provides us with a local presence for some relatively new large volume clients in the region. I’m sure Chris’ team will merge seamlessly with ours, and a smooth transition will see clients of CK as well as those of Farrow experience increased capability in all facets of the services we provide."
