BlackBerry has made enhancements to the core capabilities of its BlackBerry Radar H2 asset monitoring device and released a new wireless sensor called BlackBerry Radar R2.
Enhancements to the Radar H2 include improved global coverages and connectivity to the latest 4G LTE cellular networks and bands. The company also bolstered the short-range wireless communications protocol for connecting to sensors, adding range and stability and improving compliance with worldwide standards, BlackBerry officials said in a press release.
Select trucking companies and private fleet operators are currently participating in a pilot program to trial the new enhancements.
To support global operations that need enhanced cargo visibility and control of their shipments, BlackBerry released the BlackBerry Radar R2, a wireless sensor that uses radar waves to measures cube space utilization inside a container or trailer.
BlackBerry also enhanced its online end user dashboard’s event alerting system, which highlights important events based on businesses’ specific needs and their customized data dashboard.
BlackBerry Radar is an asset-monitoring solution that provides information such as location, motion, mileage, temperature, humidity, door open/close status and cargo status.
