Advanced safety technologies stemming from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems’ ABS-6 antilock braking system platform have received attention from outside of the trucking industry.

Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting firm, named Bendix the recipient of its 2006 Customer Value Leadership of the Year Award in the North American Class 6-8 truck original equipment safety systems category. The organization cited the extensive investment by Bendix in research and development to boost the safety value of heavy trucks, in particular the focus on the “full stability” solution of its ESP technology, as the primary driver for this recognition.
According to Frost & Sullivan, the award recognizes the company’s excellence in developing and introducing active chassis control systems that not only enhance the safety of heavy trucks, but also offer customers high value.
Bendix ABS-6 Advanced with ESP system provides the widest margin of stability on the widest range of driving surfaces among market-available stability systems. In addition, it’s the foundation for additional technologies such as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, telematics and other future advancements in electronics that will deliver even greater levels of safety, information and value to fleets in the future.
Bendix ESP became the first commercially available full-stability system in 2005, and it has since been added as standard or optional equipment for most Class 8 tractors and select vocational trucks by International, Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt, and Volvo.
