ACT Research has published a “Global Trailer Market Analysis & Forecast 2009-2016” white paper. The more than 70-page paper and a supporting index and graph package provides analyses, data, insights and forecasts for the major trailer markets in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America and other markets to include Australia and South Africa.

“To our knowledge this trailer information has never before been published in one source,” said Ken Vieth, senior partner and general manager of ACT Research. “Over the years, we’ve fielded many questions about the global trailer market, so we are very pleased to be able to provide this for our customers.

For each geographic area, the white paper looks at the macroeconomic background with actual trailer sales data for 2009-2013 and forecasts for 2014-2016, and an overview of the trailer industry including each market by selected trailer types such as dry and reefer vans, platforms, dumps, liquid and bulk tanks, and more, according to ACT. The top manufacturers in each region are identified and discussed including information on facilities, ownership, where applicable, and market share.

“ACT Research has published a monthly U.S. Trailer Report since 1989-1990, ultimately being the replacement for the old M37L published by the Department of Commerce. Over these many years, this report has become the base analysis on the health of the U.S. trailer industry and is widely used by original equipment manufacturers, suppliers, the investment community and the U.S. government,” said Vieth. “It seemed a natural step to expand our knowledge to the global trailer market, even if 25 years is a long gestation period.”
