Upgrade Inground Lifts
The new Rotary Lift Retrofit 60 in-ground lift enables fleets to replace their failing heavy-duty in-ground lifts with new, high-capacity models using their existing pits

Old traditional-style in-ground lifts were installed with the rear piston unprotected in the ground, and the front piston located in a concrete vault/pit. To replace these lifts with modern in-ground lifts other than the Retrofit 60, the existing pits must be demolished and replaced with new concrete. This usually costs at least $20,000 to $30,000 per pit. The Rotary Lift Retrofit 60, however, can be installed in the existing vault, providing a significant upfront savings in expense, installation time and facility downtime.
"Old inground lifts have a limited lifespan because they are not as protected against the elements as some modern lifts, and they can't accommodate today's heavier vehicles," explains Roger Perlstein, heavy-duty sales manager. "But many of our customers have hesitated to replace their outdated lifts because they couldn't afford to have their shops down for a long period of time while the old lifts were removed, pits were demolished and new lifts were installed. Or they didn't have enough money in their budgets for the process. The Retrofit 60 addresses these concerns and lets municipal and transit fleets upgrade to new, high-capacity in-ground lifts with a minimum of stress and expense."
To increase the life of the Retrofit 60, the rear piston is installed in its own containment housing. This housing protects the piston from the two biggest enemies of hydraulic cylinders: corrosion and electrolysis. The front piston is located in the concrete vault.
Most old inground lifts have a load capacity of 36,000 pounds. The Retrofit 60 can lift up to 60,000 lbs. Also, since the Retrofit 60's front superstructure fully retracts, the lift can accommodate lower profile vehicles that have limited ground clearance.
