TMW Systems' new TMW Freight Analyst application provides strategic decision support in truckload businesses, allowing users to identify top and bottom lanes and shippers along with "low-hanging fruit."
While the application was previously limited to TruckMate Command Center customers, it is now available for use with most trucking software using Windows or AS/400-IBM i and with operations systems that have been customized or are maintained in-house.
The new application integrates activity-based costing, revenue data, the impact of timing in areas like service performance and driver hours of service. TMW Freight Analyst also performs freight flow analysis to help fleets identify ongoing business improvement opportunities in daily operations and in sales activities.
The product also offers lane and bid pricing guidance using the Market Rate Index to compare a carrier's lane and load pricing with current industry averages. TMW's Market Rate Index is fed by actual freight transactions from a large population of carriers and updated each month.
"TMW Freight Analyst combines powerful optimization technology and real business insight to trucking in order to maximize business margins with existing resources," said Michael August, TMW vice president and general manager. "This software can deliver consultant-quality freight analysis for you daily at a fraction of the salary of trucking industry expert. In fact, it's a very cost-effective way to add industry-leading strategic decision support for carriers with as few as 100 trucks."
Rather than relying on daily key performance indicators, the solution focuses on historical load and transaction analysis for management decisions. It incorporates a set of key features from IDSC Netwise software system but does not include the extensive configuration options, scenario and what-if analysis capabilities of that application.
