TireStamp Inc. is introducing TireVigil TPMS Trailer, which automatically connects to TireVigil TPMS on the tractor and is the first trailer tire pressure monitoring system that meets the new TPMS 2.0 standard for commercial TPMS products.
Like TireVigil TPMS, TireVigil TPMS Trailer alerts fleet personnel to developing tire problems long before tires are ruined or vehicles are stranded on the side of the road, ticketed or put out of service at roadside inspections. In addition to issuing alerts for underinflation, overinflation, overheating and differences in dual tire pressure, reminders are also issued to recheck wheel-nut torque after a tire change and for preventive maintenance Inspections.
All alert and reminder thresholds are customized by the fleet so that they meet the fleet's requirements and can be easily and quickly changed with a click of a mouse. TireVigil alerts and reports can be sent to anyone the fleet chooses, including its tire dealer/service provider who has an iPhone, Blackberry, Smartphone, tablet or other Internet connected device.
TireVigil TPMS Trailer eliminates the hassle of having to manually connect the trailer TPMS to the TPMS on the tractor, the company says. It wirelessly connects with TireVigil TPMS on the tractor without human intervention when the trailer is hooked so that trailer tires are recognized and monitored automatically.
Not only does TireVigil TPMS Trailer deliver remote trailer tire diagnostics to you no matter where you or your trailers are, but it also provides fleets with the location of their vehicles.
"In addition to providing the last known location of the trailer on all alerts, TireVigil TPMS Trailer provides location-based tractor and trailer hook-and-unhook weekly and monthly summary reports," says Peggy Fisher, president. These "enable fleet managers to see how long a trailer was hooked to a tractor, where it was dropped and how long it has been dropped so that not only is its location known, but also whether any detention charges for trailer delays should be assessed without having to use another trailer tracking telematics solution."
TireVigil TPMS Trailer monitors an unlimited number of tires, standard duals or wide base, and accommodates a wide range of trailer configurations including dry vans, reefers, tankers, flat beds, livestock, auto carriers, dry bulk and dump trailers.
