Rostra Precision Controls has introduced a ParkPilot Ultrasonic Smart Parking System designed for pickup trucks that did not come factory equipped with obstacle sensing.

The new ParkPilot Truck Kit uses ultrasonic technology to detect moving and static objects up to 6 feet behind the vehicle, alerting drivers of unseen objects and making parking easier. The product's universal design fits virtually all vehicle applications, including the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra, Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, Honda Ridgeline and more.
Rostra's ParkPilot automatically engages when a vehicle is placed in reverse, sounding an internal, volume-adjustable audio alarm if an obstacle is detected.
An additional benefit of the ParkPilot is its Dynamic Scan Memory, a feature by which the sensors memorize the vehicles' bumper environment on activation - meaning the system ignores items like spare tires and trailer hitches when detecting obstacles.
