Prophesy Transportation Solutions, an Accellos company, has rolled out its new TaxTally GPS, a GPS tracking solution that's integrated with the company's TaxTally Fuel Tax Reporting software
.

The new product works by gathering GPS locations for each vehicle in a fleet. After these locations are recorded and downloaded, this data is merged with fuel transaction data from the fuel card provider. The data is validated, and then the system calculates and prepares IFTA reports automatically without any further interaction or data entry within TaxTally GPS.

"TaxTally GPS brings a groundbreaking tool to the trucking industry," said Bill Ashburn, Prophesy vice president. "There is quite simply no other solution on the market that provides this level of integration between GPS Tracking data and Fuel Tax Reporting."

Using the GPS tracking capabilities, fleets can know when appointments are running behind schedule, and where trucks and loads are or have been. Fleets have the ability to view their entire truck fleet on digitally enhanced, full-color maps. Using the system, fleets can also receive automated driver check calls, while identifying service delays and out-of-route conditions. In addition, a carrier can receive alerts, such as detention alerts, speeding alerts and auto-completion of stops via geofencing.

With the fuel tax reporting function, carriers can automate fuel and road tax data collection and reporting, while, at the same time, complying with rules and regulations for all states and provinces. The process reduces the amount of time it takes to process and file fuel taxes, Prophesy says. Along with the ability to print all necessary reports, the system allows the tracking of all fuel purchases by vendor and the monitoring of over-purchases of fuel and over-payments of taxes. In addition, fleets can download state tax rate updates right from the web.
