Hendrickson's Lightweight Steertek Axle is Featured on International's New Multilink Front Air Suspension
Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems announced the availability of the Steertek axle on International's LoneStar and ProStar Multilink front suspension systems
Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems announced the availability of the Steertek axle on International's LoneStar and ProStar Multilink front suspension systems.
The International proprietary 12,350-pound capacity front air suspension with the fabricated Steertek axle begins rolling off production lines this month.
A premium suspension and axle system, Multilink delivers outstanding ride quality in addition to a weight savings of up 25-pounds compared to International's standard parabolic leaf-spring suspension, according to Hendrickson.
Steertek's box shaped cross section resists horizontal, vertical and twisting forces more effectively than traditional I-beams while the two-piece knuckle assembly simplifies kingpin bushing serviceability, the maker said.
Additionally, the Steertek axle brings its advantages to Hendrickson's Softek - a lightweight, mechanical, single-leaf, front steer suspension and axle system and Airtek - a front air suspension and axle system, Hendrickson officials said.
