Grote Industries has introduced its Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb, which turns any Parabolic Aluminized Reflector (PAR) 36 incandescent lamp into an LED WhiteLight Lamp.

PAR 36 bulbs are used in common worklights, forklifts and many kinds of work trucks, including tow, service and public utility vehicles.

The new bulb allows users to upgrade an existing incandescent or halogen lamp into a 900-lumen LED WhiteLight lamp that lasts longer, shines brighter and delivers beam evenness, color temperature and contrast like sunlight, Grote says.

"The LED bulb easily snaps into any standard PAR 36 housing and has two versatile terminals designed to accommodate either a screw or a FastOn cable connection," said Mike Grote, business development manager for forward and interior lighting.

According to Grote, incandescent bulbs have a life span rated at 25 to 500 hours, while the Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb is rated for a service life of 40,000 hours. This bulb uses only half the power and will likely never need to be replaced.

"Put simply, our new bulb will provide users with 100 times the lifespan of a traditional PAR 36 bulb, at just one-eighth the cost over its service life," Grote said. "The Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb will dramatically decrease any fleet's exposure to productivity fluctuations associated with PAR 36 lighting failures."

In addition, the bulbs come in a wide flood beam pattern and Grote's new TractorPlus beam pattern, which delivered almost three times more usable light than traditional PAR 36 bulbs in certified tests.

"It's not just the number of raw lumens a lamp will produce," Grote said. "It's how you focus those lumens on the task at hand. Our new beam patterns are a refinement that will pay off in better visual acuity and higher levels of vehicle and human performance."
