FleetMind Solutions, a Montreal-based fleet management solutions provider, has enhanced its system's capabilities to make it easier for fleets to manage safety initiatives
. The company has made improvements to its FleetMap and Fleet Reporting functions.
"Fleet safety is about reducing risk and reinforcing safe driving behavior," said Martin Demers, FleetMind's CEO. "With the potential threat of fatalities and injuries, and the related costs of accidents - safety initiatives have become a critical concern for any fleet manager or transportation company.
Through the company's FleetMap offering, fleets can access a real-time map view of vehicle positions. Managers can select from a number of layers that determine the level of detail and plot the vehicle's position according to reported events. In addition, FleetMap allows managers to further reconstruct the route taken by a driver on any given day, verify any deviations or unscheduled side trips, and view alarm criteria, such as exceeding a specified speed limit.
Other capabilities of FleetMap include tracking drivers with GPS, determining how the vehicles are being handled, identifying which drivers generated alarms and where these were generated, monitoring driver speed, and plotting locations of alarm occurrences.
The company's Fleet Reports focuses on safety by evaluating overall fleet and driver activity by collecting relevant data. This functionality allows fleet managers to see a graphic view of route progress and status. It provides fleets with reporting on the exact route each vehicle took as well as detailed event records for accident situations. Using Fleet Reports, carriers can also monitor key performance metrics. The system will also alert managers in real time with a map of overall driving patterns.
"Fleet managers that have limited or no visibility into their drivers' behavior, cannot address or mitigate the issues, and cannot deal effectively with at-risk drivers," Demers said. "This lack of visibility directly impacts their risk factors, safety records and operating costs. FleetMind's goal is to ensure that fleet managers have the tools and information they need to pro-actively implement fleet safety initiatives and mitigate associated risks."
