The Decisiv Service Management Platform now supports the Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards, or VMRS, developed by the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations.
VMRS is the universal language of the trucking industry's maintenance management and reporting systems that enables dealer and fleet systems to share data in a format most customers prefer and understand.
Fleet users of VMRS 2000 use the coding system to accurately identify and document repair activities and costs. VMRS codes contain parts and labor descriptor codes to categorize maintenance activity on equipment and assets. In use for over 30 years, the latest update of VMRS contains tens of thousands of codes, with more than 500 new codes being added each quarter.
Decisiv's implementation of VMRS does not require service writers to remember codes or search through tables. The Decisiv Service Management Platform automatically codes many standard operations, including a significant number of warranty repairs. Dealer service writers can also assign VMRS codes for non-standard operations by using simple drop down boxes that guide them through Group, System, Assembly and Component coding, as well as adding Position and Work Accomplished codes.
The Decisiv Service Management Platform provides a common and consistent service initiation and write-up process and faster in-context access to source information, and serves as a communications bridge between service location subscribers and their customers.
