Decisiv has debuted FleetBasic, the free version of the Decisiv Service Management Platform, which facilitates communication between over-the-road trucking operations, local and regional fleets, and their service providers.


"FleetBasic is designed to support and promote communication between trucking companies and service locations," said Derek Messulam, senior vice president at Decisiv. "The platform is used to create, negotiate and approve service write-ups efficiently."

The software allows fleets to create an electronic profile. When their vehicles arrive at a service location participating in the program, the profile, along with information about the truck and its owner, is sent, expediting the service experience. Fleets are provided with alerts and updates on any change in status of their vehicles, allowing for real-time communication with the service location.

"One of the biggest advantages of the Decisiv platform is that all communication with the service location is handled electronically via the Decisiv Platform, so there is no question about what we said to fix, or the labor and parts cost we are paying," said Mike Shumate, director of maintenance at Earl L. Henderson Trucking Company, which uses FleetBasic. "At the same time, if the service location finds another problem with the truck they can send us an estimate and we can decide if we are going to make that repair. This is a real time saver."
