Starting in January 2010, Daimler Trucks North America will make the Meritor Wabco System Saver 1200 Plus air dryer standard on all truck models.
The System Saver 1200 Plus is a high-capacity, spin-on air dryer, featuring the standard spin-on cartridge or an interchangeable spin-cartridge with coalescing filtration. The lightweight design integrates the air dryer, 1200 cc of premium desiccant, and purge volume and governor, which can be mounted directly to the dryer.
"The new air dryer is a proven design that will deliver the high performance, reliability, and low life-cycle costs that vehicle owners expect from their braking system," said Jon Morrison, president, Meritor Wabco.
Other features of the dryer include a 4.0-liter purge volume, 250-liter drying capacity, and replaceable spin-on cartridge. Weighing in at less than 20 pounds with the mounting hardware, the System Saver 1200 can also be interchanged with similar integral-purge volume dryers in North America, Meritor Wabco says.
