Shur-Co LLC says it is setting up a new location in Sioux Falls, S.D., to install ShurTite retractable tarp systems on flatbed and drop deck trailers and on straight trucks and specialty vehicles. The facility will also do repair work for all brands of retractable tarping systems.

Shur-Co, in Yankton, S.D., bought the Roll-Tite product line in 2014 and renamed it Shur-Tite, the company said. The products continue to be made in and distributed from the original facility in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, and it will remain the main location. The new facility in Sioux Falls will add capacity for the products.

“Since the acquisition, we have gained a tremendous amount of insight for the ShurTite product and our presence in the market," said Terry Tennant, Shur-Co’s president and CEO. "The next step is to increase our capabilities for product distribution, service and installations. The Sioux Falls location allows us to do that.

“Given its proximity to our corporate headquarters, it also allows us to maximize our engineering support to further refine the offering."

Roll-Tite Inc. was placed into receivership in early 2009 due to the downturn in the transportation sector. Late that year it was purchased by President Roman Pankiw and other investors. Roll-Tite was then acquired by Capital Partners in 2011.

Shur-Co manufactures tarp systems and accessories for trucks, trailers, carts and specialty equipment used in the agriculture, construction, waste and flatbed markets. It operates 13 locations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. More information is at www.shurco.com or available by calling 800-474-8756.
