Sidekick Attachments is touting a safer and more efficient way to move trailers around the yard with its forklift-operated fifth-wheel trailer movers.
Sidekick Introduces Forklift-Operated Trailer Movers for Safer Yard Operations
A new, hands-free, self-locking fifth-wheel attachment helps facilities reposition trailers without tractors or chains.

Sidekick's new fifth-wheel attachment is designed for trucking depots, distribution centers, manufacturers, and other logistics-heavy facilities.

The new attachment is designed for trucking depots, distribution centers, manufacturers, and other logistics-heavy facilities. It allows operators to push or pull fifth-wheel trailers into position directly from a forklift. This eliminates the need to wait for a yard tractor or truck to handle short trailer moves.
A ‘Guaranteed Lock’
Sidekick said the attachment features a hands-free, self-locking design that does not require chains or pins. When the forklift forks are properly inserted and lifted, the fifth wheel locks into place automatically, providing what the company calls a “guaranteed lock” with no moving parts.
Built from heavy-duty steel, the trailer mover also includes an integral air compressor and wide fork pockets to accommodate most forklift configurations.
In addition to the fifth-wheel model, Sidekick offers several standard trailer mover configurations, with custom sizing available for specialized applications.
The company, which manufactures the equipment in Marshall, Indiana, said typical lead times are about 10 business days.
Sidekick engineers are available to assist fleets and facilities with product selection and sizing.
