Road Systems Inc., a trailer manufacturer and subsidiary of Con-way Inc., has changed its name to Con-way Manufacturing, effective immediately. Con-way Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc., a $5.6 billion freight transportation and logistics services company.
Con-way Manufacturing produces trailing equipment for the less-than-truckload and full-truckload over-the-road freight transportation markets. In addition to manufacturing factory-new trailers, the company also specializes in trailer refurbishing, and applying specialized processes, tooling and expertise to refurbish and rebuild used trailers to like-new condition, while recycling up to 80% of existing trailer components and material.
By aligning more closely with the overall Con-way brand, Con-way Manufacturing is leveraging the long-standing reputation of parent company, Con-way Inc., and its operating units, less-than-truckload carrier Con-way Freight, nationwide full-truckload carrier, Con-way Truckload, and global supply chain services provider Menlo Worldwide Logistics.
Founded in 1977, today Con-way Manufacturing is the exclusive provider of freight trailers and trailing equipment for Con-way Freight, and provides trailer-refurbishing services to Con-way Truckload. The company also markets and sells its products to independent trucking companies.
