Western Star Trucks is preparing for its next Star Nation Experience. The OEM is officially opening the entry period for the 2026 edition of its customer appreciation event that blends community, competition and celebration of trucking’s toughest operators.
The Star Nation Experience returns after a multi-year run that has become one of the more unique experiential events in the heavy-duty truck world.
Star Nation was conceived to bring Western Star owners, operators and enthusiasts together to network and share their passion for the brand.
The event provides an all-inclusive, once-in-a-lifetime adventure built around the Western Star brand ethos: Never back down.
Entries are now open for the 2026 event, which will again culminate in a multi-day gathering set in Bend, Oregon.
Previous Star Nation events have included driver challenges, exclusive access to Daimler Truck North America facilities and hands-on experiences with the latest Western Star X-Series lineup.
On the Scene at Star Nation
While Western Star has yet to release full details for the 2026 itinerary, the Star Nation Experience typically includes:
Drive & Ride Challenges behind the wheel of Western Star X-Series trucks at the Daimler Truck North America High Desert Proving Grounds near Madras, Ore.
Outdoor excursion activities that leverage the rugged Oregon landscape, from fly fishing to ATV rides.
Face time with product experts and industry leaders, offering insight into truck design, capability and brand direction.
Past winners have described the event as more than just a truck showcase. They report that Star Nation is a full-immersion celebration of the trucking lifestyle, where camaraderie and shared passion for the brand are as central as the trucks themselves, according to the OEM.
In 2025, eight winners were selected from entries submitted by Western Star owners, operators and fans of the brand’s Star Nation community.
Those finalists traveled to Oregon for a mix of technical challenges, social activities and networking opportunities with Western Star leaders.
Gamers Welcome
While Western Star hasn’t published full 2026 official rules yet, prior Star Nation entry campaigns were open to U.S. and Canadian residents 21 and older who are active in trucking or are part of the Western Star community.
This has included American Truck Simulator gamers.
