McLeodSoftware’s latest version of its transportation management solutions for freight brokers and motor carriers is “a completely re-engineered user interface and workflows for trucking operations,” according to Tom McLeod, president and founder of the company.

With major enhancements across McLeod’s LoadMaster, PowerBroker, DocumentPower and MPact platforms, Version 25.2 uses artificial intelligence to offer smarter planning, faster invoicing, and AI-driven communication.
The company has spent a great deal of time working with customers to make sure this is not just slapping a web user interface onto a reproduction of McLeod’s existing products, McLeod told Heavy Duty Trucking in an interview at the company’s Birmingham, Alabama, headquarters.
“It's completely re-engineered for efficiency and productivity … visibility, better decision support, and not taking any backward steps on functionality.”
The system aims to give customers the information they need “at the point of decision on a timely basis to help customers improve their operations.”
How McLeod is Using Artificial Intelligence to Help Trucking Customers
As an example of how artificial intelligence is helping customers, McLeod cited the ability to automatically receive and import load tenders into the system.
For instance, he said, “a remarkable amount of load tendering traffic takes place over email, and AI may really finally make a dent in the EDI requirement for a lot of trucking companies.
“If you can take the unstructured email and put it directly into your operations platform, that's an enormous time savings.”
Another example is “being able to add to the rate intelligence. When there's a rate requested, to quote a rate that's likely to win the business. You've got to consider of course the commodity and the service requirements, but also the lane and what the market's doing.
“AI can help to evaluate those factors quickly and allow for a draft of the response that can be reviewed by someone in operations.”
“And then keeping a record of that quote, and then keeping a record of where did you win, or did you lose? Historically, that's just required so much manual work trying to record that that most companies don't take the time to do it. So to get that additional information, the companies that can be on the front end of that will really gain an advantage in the marketplace.”
LoadMaster//web Gives Trucking Fleets Web-Based Tools
LoadMaster//web now offers the full power of LoadMaster, McLeod's motor carrier solution, via the internet.
From dispatching and load tracking to driver management, LoadMaster tools are now accessible anytime, anywhere, with just an internet connection.
Operations Management delivers a dynamic, real-time Visual Planner View. It allows users to drag and drop assignments in seconds, reshuffle loads on the fly, and instantly spot issues thanks to a color-coded timeline.
The Dispatch Slide-Out consolidates driver activity (past, present, and future) into one easy-to-navigate panel. Tools such as Automatch, Find Near, and Equipment Alerts reduce guesswork and empower the fastest decisions.
Smarter Workflows, Sharper Visibility
LoadMaster//web introduces faster, more intuitive workflows.
With Quick Action Buttons, users can instantly preassign, dispatch, split, or hold loads.
Intuitive Task Filters bring late loads, shipment issues, and appointment conflicts to the surface instantly, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Users gain enhanced visibility into load status, driver assignments, and equipment, all supported by interactive data highlights that offer in-context insights without screen-switching.
Updated Core Files for Driver, Tractor, Trailer, and Location offer streamlined asset management with duplicate detection, image support, and comment tracking.
Brokerage Efficiency with PowerBroker//web
PowerBroker//web introduces time-saving tools for brokerage efficiency.
The new Order Payables workspace offers a modern, tabbed interface for managing settlements, with filters, bulk actions, and improved factoring control.
Multi-Select Load Planning enables batch actions for assigning carriers, sending rate confirmations, and applying holds.
Call-ins and Status Tracking automatically update from incoming SMS messages, while FlowLogix integration triggers next-step workflows.
The Carrier Sales Board centralizes load matching, capacity tracking, and communication into a single command center.
Next Level Back Office Performance
In the back office, McLeod’s redesigned Invoicing experience centralizes billing activity with multi-profile support, real-time cash visibility, and intuitive workflow tabs.
Users can view carrier pay, margins, invoice status, and missing documents at a glance. Bulk processing and dynamic filters help teams take faster action with fewer clicks.
Navigation is smarter with role-based menus, seamless session continuity, configurable tab/window defaults, and improved image viewing for document side-by-sides.
Keeping Drivers Informed, Connected, and On Track
New tools help keep drivers informed, connected, and ahead of the game.
Driver Sidekick features chat-style messaging with color-coded alerts and read receipts, helping dispatch and drivers stay aligned in real time.
A new Missing Document icon on the driver home screen helps avoid delays by highlighting required paperwork.
The new Check Value Toggle gives drivers control over payment visibility.
MPact Gets Smarter
The new MPact.RespondAI unleashes AI-powered communication automation.
MPact is McLeod's market analysis tool.
The latest. AI-powered version intelligently prioritizes inbound messages, crafts data-enriched replies, and even generates quotes or starts order creation — before your team even opens the email.
MPact.IQ now features role-based dashboards tailored for Finance, Sales, Operations, and Executives, offering real-time metrics and simplified payment reconciliation. New filters help pinpoint outstanding balances, track AR performance, and surface unpaid charges.
