Volvo’s Vera Autonomous Vehicle Goes to Work in Swedish Port
Volvo, Aurora to Develop On-Highway Autonomous Trucks
Volvo and Aurora signed a deal to work together on developing on-highway autonomous trucks.

Under the partnership, Volvo will integrate the Aurora Driver into Volvo’s on-highway trucks, and focus on developing and deploying an autonomous hub-to-hub applications.

Volvo Autonomous Solutions has entered a long-term partnership with autonomous technology development company Aurora to jointly develop on-highway autonomous trucks.
Under the partnership, Volvo will integrate the Aurora Driver into Volvo’s on-highway trucks, and the partners will develop Transport as a Service solutions. The partnership’s initial focus is to develop and deploy autonomous hub-to-hub applications for North America.
Aurora’s integrated autonomous driving technology stack, software, hardware and data services platform will combine to offer a clear path towards efficient and safe on-highway solutions, Volvo officials said in a press release.
Previously announced Volvo Group collaborations with partners such as Nvidia and others continue in parallel with the collaboration with Aurora.
Last year, Aurora acquired Uber Technologies' autonomous vehicle business division. Paccar earlier this year also announced a partnership with Aurora to develop, test and commercialize autonomous Peterbilt and Kenworth Trucks.
