The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will host a question and answer session Dec. 17 on the new hours of service rules that went into effect at the end of September.
The final rule made changes in four areas of the hours of service regulations to offer more flexibility to carriers and their drivers:
Short-haul exemption
Adverse driving conditions
Split sleeper berth
30-minute rest break
However, taking full advantage of that flexibility without running into compliance problems requires an understanding of the changes.
The webinar will be held on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 2-3 EST. Space is limited and registration is required. Questions should be submitted in advance here. A recording will be available on FMCSA's hours of service web page after the webinar.
