Volvo Trucks' Public Platooning Demonstration [Video]

On a North Carolina highway, Volvo Trucks North America put on a three-truck platooning demonstration in collaboration with FedEx and the North Carolina Turnpike Authority. Using Volvo's system to keep the three trucks in constant communication, the test showed how a platoon might handle cars cutting in between the trucks and other expected common occurrences. Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge rode in one of the vehicles during the demonstration and was able to observe how it would handle a real-world highway environment.
