At the Comtrans Truck Show in Moscow, Russia, this week, the Volvo FH was awarded the 2014 Truck of the Year award by European trucking journalists.
This annual award is given to the truck model that is regarded as the most innovative when it comes to comfort, safety, road holding, fuel efficiency, environment and total economy for the owner. Also considered is which model contributes best to more efficient road transport.
The chairman of the 25-person jury, Gianenrico Griffini from Italy, summarizes the decision:
"Volvo FH is a complete new heavy truck model that with its innovative cab, high-tech drive line components and advanced solutions for service and maintenance establish a new level within the automotive industry."
The FH was unveiled last year. Volvo said it spent 10 million engineering hours in developing the new truck.
