September saw a continuation of a strong order season for the trailer industry, with 32,194 net orders placed, according to ACT Research Co.
“The pace of orders continues to amaze,” said Frank Maly, director of commercial vehicle transportation analysis and research at ACT. “September new and net orders both saw 29% sequential gains, and net orders are up 86% year over year.”
Year-to-date, net orders rose 51% compared to last year.
“Strong quarter-ending production levels combined with an inventory drawdown to push shipment levels to almost 26,900 units, the best volume since June 2006,” Maly added.
ACT's figures echo order numbers from FTR earlier this week.
