Prior to joining FTR, Tranausky was industry assessment and analysis provider Argus’s North American transportation editor, responsible for overseeing the quality of Argus’ existing transportation reports and leading the company’s new product development in this area.

Tranausky was responsible for editing the weekly Argus Coal Transportation newsletter, along with overseeing the Argus Rail Business publication that focuses on rail and shipper dynamics, critical rate data, rail costs, and regulatory and operational issues in the rail industry. He also assessed rail and barge rates for the movement of petroleum products for the Argus Petroleum Transportation Report.

"Todd has a proven track record of developing insightful research and analysis of freight transportation," FTR said in the announcement. "His expertise on the rail side, especially regarding rail shippers, will strengthen our analytic capabilities and open new areas of research.”
