Southern Tank Transport Launches Logistics Arm

Alabama-based Southern Tank Transport, a bulk carrier of commodities, has launched a new division, STT Logistics, which will provide logistics, freight management and brokerage services
. The expansion is an effort to better serve a wider, more diverse range of customers.
STT Logistics has recruited Ed Dockweiler to head the division as director of logistics. Dockweiler joins after 15 years with Schneider National, working with customers such as Wal-Mart, Advanced Auto Parts and International Paper.
STT Logistics' services will include 24/7 dispatch coverage from point of origin to destination, full communication and tracking. In addition, freight services will be available by truck, plane, train, ship, expedited, import/export and intermodal transportation.
"After a four month shakedown cruise, STT Logistics is now ready to open its doors to all companies with a need, looking for a transportation solution or seeking consistent results," Dockweiler said.
