Schneider Logistics Inc., an international lead logistics provider and part of the Schneider National enterprise has introduced AccessCanada, a new service that helps U.S. exporters to Canada reduce cost and take risk out of the supply chain.
The new service delivers simplified, cost-reducing access to the Canadian marketplace. With AccessCanada, Schneider combines truckload, crossdock warehousing and less-than-truckload services to expedite freight delivery into Canada without tying up shipper inventory or capital in warehouses.
AccessCanada optimizes shippers' networks with any combination of Schneider National or third-party transportation services. By servicing the Canadian market directly from the United States, shippers reduce cycle time and capital costs associated with bricks and mortar in Canada.
To reach shippers' destinations in Canada, freight is delivered from a distribution center, manufacturing facility or import warehouse in the United States to a crossdocking facility in Canada. There, less-than-truckload carriers divide freight into smaller shipments for final delivery. AccessCanada clients work with one carrier from start to finish and benefit from Schneider's intimate knowledge of the Canadian supply chain as well as fast, reliable service that helps their bottom lines.
"With AccessCanada, crossdocking work is done seamlessly so clients do not have to warehouse freight or worry about safety stock," said John Ferguson, Canada general manager for Schneider National.
"AccessCanada provides U.S. exporters with a cost-effective integrated logistics solution from the point of origin to the customers' shelves in Canada," Ferguson added.å
