Truckload giant Schneider National Inc. announced it is working with Atlas Ergonomics to provide in-cab health and safety improvements for its more than 12,000 drivers.

Atlas has experience in office ergonomics and is applying its methods for reducing discomfort, fatigue and turnover to Schneider trucks.
"Drivers in our pilot study reported being less fatigued and more comfortable in trucks equipped with the Atlas Seat Marking System, and that spoke volumes,"
said Don Osterberg, vice president of Safety.
“Atlas fits the environment to the individual, trains the user how to maintain individualized settings and monitors outcomes for quantified results," said Drew Bossen, executive vice president of Atlas Ergonomics.
In a pilot study of the Atlas system driver-reported discomfort dropped from 85 percent to 20 percent. More than 90 percent of drivers reported improvement in their fatigue level and job satisfaction.
"Implementing the Atlas process has become a high priority for our organization and we are anticipating significant, measurable benefits," notes Osterberg. "Implementation is underway, with all trucks slated for installation by mid-summer."
