Ryder System has expanded maintenance offerings for its leases with the company’s new Ryder ChoiceLease options.
The company’s traditional full-service lease has offered only one option for maintenance but with ChoiceLease, the company is offering three options, including Full Service, Preventative and On-Demand. The scalable model allows customers to decide on the terms of their lease alongside the level of maintenance they prefer.

Ryder ChoiceLease Full Service is the company’s traditional full-service lease with maintenance included. Ryder ChoiceLease Preventative includes preventative maintenance for new and used vehicles, allowing customers to handle other repairs and maintenance outside of preventative checks. The Ryder ChoiceLease On-Demand option provides gives access to Ryder’s maintenance network on a pay-as-you-go basis and is only available on new and used trailers, as well as used power equipment.
Ryder found that there was interest in having more maintenance options than the fully comprehensive Full Service Lease through market research it conducted and conversations with private fleet owners. Ryder believes that the new options will address some of the barriers that have prevented private fleets from outsourcing their transportation functions in the past, making it easier for more companies to do business with the company.
“The new Ryder ChoiceLease products provide agility and customization for businesses that want more control when it comes to their fleets,” said Robert Sanchez, Ryder chairman and CEO. “We’re listening to the marketplace, and offering customers the unique opportunity to do business with Ryder on their terms.”
The companies also said they plan to coordinate deployment planning across priority freight corridors and define routes and operational design domains for U.S. commercial service while laying the groundwork for expansion into key European markets.
