Randon Implementos, one of the largest trailer manufacturers in Latin American, has acquired North American trailer manufacturer Hercules for about $40 million.
The acquisition marks entry of Randon Companies into a new market for the OEM business vertical.
Hillsborough, New Jersey-based Hercules is a traditional semi-trailer manufacturer specialized in container chassis, with more than 60 years in the United States.
The company obtained a certification for manufacturing Randon brand products in the United States.
"We have achieved this historic milestone for the company, believing that entering one of the largest markets of semi-trailers in the Western world is a fundamental move in the execution of the sustainable growth strategy we have planned, expanding our international participation in different geographies and enhancing synergies,” said the CEO of Randon Cos. Sergio Carvalho in a press release.
In addition to six units located in Brazil, Randon Implementos maintains a plant in Argentina and works with partners for the assembly of semi-trailers in several strategic global logistics points in Central America and Africa, in addition to a national and international distribution network of more than 175 points.
