Transport Capital Partners LLC announced last week that the blanket wrap business of North
American Van Lines (NAVL), owned by SIRVA Inc., was purchased by Gainey Transportation
Services
of Grand Rapids, Mich., a privately held company.
The Blanket Wrap Business located in Fort Wayne, Ind. hauled about 15,000 loads last year using
180 independent contractors and more than 500 trailers. Transport Capital Partners is a
consulting firm that assists in the sale of trucking companies.
According to the Transport Capital release, Gainey plans to keep the business operating out of
Fort Wayne and substantially grow market share in the blanket wrap business. Gainey and NAVL
have been recognized historically as the two premier carriers in North America in this market
segment. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
