NEMF, a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier serving the Northeast and Midwest, this week opened a terminal building to serve the Lancaster, Pa., area.

According to NEMF Executive Vice President Thomas Connery, the facility will help NEMF and its sister companies meet increased demand from its customers in the area. "This new facility will enable us to improve operational efficiencies and to provide exceptional service to the Lancaster area. It will also give us added capacity for our break-bulk terminal in Harrisburg, Pa. We've experienced a sharp increase in tonnage there since our recent expansion to Ohio, Illinois and Virginia," Connery said.
The terminal, located on a 15-acre site at 1362 Clover Leaf Road in Mount Joy, Pa., has 54 doors and will employ 46 workers including 16 local route drivers and 12 line-haul drivers. The facility also features administrative offices and a shop. The yard is fully paved and completely fenced in
