Members of the United Auto Workers union have ratified a new four-year collective bargaining agreement with Mack Trucks, covering 3,500 employees at the company’s manufacturing facitlities.

The employees work at six facilities in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida.

“The new agreement allows us to continue providing our UAW-represented employees and their families with an attractive package of wages and benefits, while safeguarding the company’s competitiveness and supporting the success of our customers,” said Mack Trucks President Martin Weissburg.

Ray Curry, UAW secretary treasurer and director of the UAW Heavy Duty Truck Department, said that the agreement included significant wage increases, bonuses, job security protections and was able to maintain health care costs.

“Through the new four-year agreement, the UAW looks to further expand its long-term relationship with Mack Trucks,” said Curry. “The members at Mack were able to hold the line on health care and add job security provisions and substantial raises during a difficult economic time in the industry.”
