Mack Trucks is now offering a newly designed Mack Anthem day cab roof fairing with a taller profile to allow better air flow over the trailer and reduce drag.
The faring will increase fuel efficiency by up to 2% when paired with side shields, Mack officials said in a press release.
The trim tab height is adjustable, accounting for chassis height, trailer height, and the distance between the rear of the cab and front of the trailer.
Mack Anthem day cab models can be SmartWay certified if spec’d with roof fairings and side shields, chassis fairing and an aerodynamic bumper option. In addition, low-rolling-resistance SmartWay-certified tires are required.
The company made the announcement at the National Private Truck Council annual meeting, where it has on display a Mack Anthem day cab sporting the new fairing, as well as Mack’s proprietary Mack MP 7 engine, a Mack mDrive 12-speed overdrive automated manual transmission. The Anthem is equipped with Mack’s GuardDog Connect telematics system.
