Machinery Haulers Honor Safest Carriers
The Machinery Haulers Association recently honored several members in its Truck Fleet Safety Contest, presented during the group’s annual Safety & Security meeting.

The Machinery Haulers Association recently honored several members in its Truck Fleet Safety Contest, presented during the group’s annual Safety & Security meeting in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin.
The award takes into consideration an array of metrics as well as a carrier’s overall safety program. This year’s winners, based on 2017 data, were:
• Up to 5 Million Miles: Hilburn Trucking Inc., Independence, Missouri, Safety Director Angel Hilburn
• 5 Million to 50 Million Miles: Hunt Transportation Co., Omaha, Nebraska, Safety Director Heath Richards
• Over 50 Million Miles: Landstar Transportation Logistics, Jacksonville, Florida, Safety Director Melanie Evans
TMHA serves open-deck motor carriers that transport primarily machinery and machinery-related products on specialized equipment. It meets three times a year; TMHA’s next meeting is scheduled for December 5-6 in Rock Island, Illinois.
