Knight Transportation Inc. has opened a new brokerage service center in Dallas, Texas, that will be operated by Knight Brokerage LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Knight Transportation Inc.
The Dallas center represents the seventh brokerage service center in Knight's nationwide network. Knight Brokerage was created in mid-2005 and complements the firm's existing network of 26 dry van and four refrigerated service centers. Chairman and CEO Kevin Knight said, "The development of our brokerage model strengthens our relationships with our customers, giving them more options. It is also a less capital-intensive way for us to grow our business. This expansion represents our continued progression as we build our brand as the premier national carrier, providing local service to the markets we serve."
