Hill Bros. Transportation recently recognized nine drivers and owner-operators who surpassed the million-mile safe driving mark or greater during 2006.
Lawrence Vandemark of Iowa has been a company driver with Hill Bros. for 21 years, and was recognized for the greatest total miles among the honorees. During 2006, Lawrence's mileage total surpassed an impressive 2.5 million miles. Two others who received honors for remarkable total mileage were owner-operator Steven Grof of Nebraska, who has been with Hill Bros. for 15 years and reached the 2 million-mile mark; and company driver Raymond "Joe" Brooks of Kansas, who has been with Hill Bros. for 14 years and surpassed 1.75 million miles.
Hill Bros. also recognized four company drivers and two owner-operators who reached the significant total of 1 million miles in 2006. Company drivers were Brice Remus of Nebraska, with Hill Bros. for 12 years; Thomas White of Nebraska, with Hill Bros. for nine years; Darwin Weinbrandt of Nebraska, with Hill Bros. for eight years; and Darron Strickland of Nebraska, also with Hill Bros. for eight years. Owner-operators were Donald Crabbs of Missouri, with Hill Bros. for nine years; and Mark Decker of Missouri, with Hill Bros. for eight years.
Each driver received a certificate of accomplishment, mileage decals and prizes based on the mileage level they achieved.
