Heavy Duty Trucking’s coverage of autonomous technology, electric-truck batteries, and the newest engine oil chemistry has won a Jesse H. Neal Award.

The Neals, which honor business-to-business (B2B) journalism, bring together entries from editors working for B2B brands across a wide range of industries, such as restaurants, architects, healthcare, financial planning, automotive, engineering, supply chain, logistics, and more. The entries represent a range of digital and traditional content disciplines.

Equipment Editor Jim Park and Business/Washington Contributing Editor David Cullen won the award for Best Technical/Scientific Coverage:

The finalists were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process by peer professionals. A panel of 136 judges reviewed the finalists in three stages to select the winners in 24 categories.

That brings the total Neal honors for HDT editors to 31 Neal Awards, two Grand Neal awards, and 43 Neal Finalist honors.

The Neal Awards are presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), a professional organization connecting more than 500 data, financial information, education technology, and specialized content and publishing companies, including business-to-business brands. It incorporates what was previously known as the American Business Media association.

In addition, Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge has earned a Regional Bronze in the Pacific Region in the Azbee Awards for News Analysis for “California Trucking Braces for AB5.” The Azbees are awarded by the American Society of Business Publication Editors. In 2022, Lockridge won a Silver award in the Pacific region for her editorials.
