The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has reinstated an electronic logging device that it had removed from its list of registered devices that meet the technical specifications in the ELD rule.
Powertrucks has been reinstated by the FMCSA to the list of approved ELDs after being among a group of ELDs that were removed from the registered devices list earlier this month.
When ELD providers correct all identified deficiencies for their devices, FMCSA will place the ELDs back on the registered devices list and inform the industry and the field.
This is the second ELD the agency has reinstated from the list of 10 revoked devices it announced earlier this month. A week after it announced the revocation of 10 electronic logging devices from its list of registered ELDs, the FMCSA reinstated CI ELD LOGS.
Eight ELDs on that list remain in revoked status. Continuing to use those ELDs on or after Jan. 30 will constitute a “No record of duty status” out-of-service violation, the agency warned.
