FedEx Corp., formerly known as FDX, yesterday unveiled new names for its trucking subsidiaries that take advantage of the strength of the FedEx name.

In addition to the new branding, FedEx will make organizational changes to integrated sales and customer service operations and will launch a new low-cost residential delivery service.
The parent company, formerly FDX Corp., will be renamed FedEx Corp. Federal Express will keep its name, but change its logo to FedEx Express. RPS, which specializes in small-package, ground business-to-business delivery, will be renamed FedEx Ground. FedEx Home Delivery, the new residential delivery service slated to start in March and specialize in e-commerce delivery to consumers, will be provided through the FedEx Ground network. Expedited carrier Roberts Express will be renamed FedEx Custom Critical. FDX Logistics will be renamed FedEx Global Logistics.
Viking Freight, the Western regional less-than-truckload carrier, will stay part of FedEx Corp. but will keep its identity.
"It's time to leverage and extend one of our greatest assets, the FedEx brand, and to provide our customers an integrated set of business solutions," said Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president and CEO of FedEx Corp.
Each company will continue to operate independently.
