The results in Louisville mark the third election in which FedEx Freight drivers have voted against the union. The Teamsters withdrew on the eve of elections in Middletown, Pennsylvania, South Newark, New Jersey, and Richmond, Virginia.
FedEx says the union would only withdraw its election petitions if it knew it would lose the vote in those locations.
“This pattern of union defeats and withdrawals supports our belief that the vast majority of our drivers do not want union interference,” said Pat Reed, FedEx Freight chief operating officer and executive vice president.
Since October, when the Teamsters won its first organizing election at a FedEx Freight facility, the union has won votes at a total of three locations.
