Expediter Services has created its Owner-Operator Program, the fleet's new management and support program.
The program includes industry discounts as well as a Web-based communications platform to help independent contractors achieve reduced layover times and better profits.

Using the company's logistical mileage and load information, drivers can avoid long layovers and deadhead miles and increase load counts. This information is consolidated into a user-friendly website. In addition, the program allows drivers to take advantage of discounts on fuel, insurance and maintenance.

"Owner-operators are the backbone of the expedited freight industry, but are essentially on their own out there," said Jason Williams, president and chief operating officer. "Although we developed the program for our own fleet, it provides the tools for all owner-operators in the industry to never stand alone."
